Day 7- Understanding Exposure
I do NOT understand exposure, BUT I will keep trying
So I'm super excited about taking photos of Hudson tomorrow! I went to hobby lobby to experiment with fabrics, I also wanted to get some inspiration as to how to display some photos at home. Back to fabrics, not sure if I LOVE them as backdrops, but I do love them in general, maybe just to drape over a boppy. The black and white one is good, so we'll have to experiment. I also found some sweet tin signs which happened to be 50% off! So I got 6 or 7 of them, which I may try to use tomorrow.

Day 6
My little trooper post needle trauma.
It's sad that they even make gauze with butterflies on it.
Bruised already.
So today was our 15 month well baby visit (10 AM). Little did I know it was going to be a two hour ordeal. Our doctor wanted Carter to have some blood drawn to test for anemia (it's a long story as to why). So being the good patient, I agreed. We went down to the lab (11:00) and had two technicians attempt to draw blood from each arm (stick #1 and stick #2). They didn't want to torture us any longer and sent us down to the pediatric clinic (11:30). There we saw a nurse who "had drawn blood three times today on infants with no problem". Sigh. She stuck him in his hand (#3) and wiggled that needle around for at least 20 minutes with very little blood drawn. She then thought, its the tourniquet he doesn't like, let's try without it (stick #4) other hand, approx. 5 minutes before he ripped it out. It was about this time (12) that I had to call Tom
for backup, I was physically tired from restraining this 15 month old baby for an hour but emotionally, I was DONE. Luckily, I caught Tom before his flight so he was able to help. The final stick (#5) was in his foot, for approx 5-10 minutes, again, with very little blood drawn. And we called it a day (12:20). She did say "the lab will call you if we didn't get enough blood." Ugh, are you kidding me?

Day 5
So I was going to say this is my picture of the day. This was the first time I gave Carter his own bowl (of something somewhat messy) and just let him go to town. He did great and was quite controlled and LOVED mac n' cheese.
This became my reality of the day. Lots of tantrums, hopefully it was just an "off day"... but we'll see!

Day 3- Date Night
Tom and I got to go out on a date night last night. We had not been out just the two of us since my birthday in February! We took this opportunity to take a picture of us somewhat dressed up. (Note to self: pictures taken from below eye level, not flattering :-) ) We went to the only nice restaurant in town "Salt and Pepper", a Mediterranean place and then to the movies (which we hadn't done since last October). We saw Star Trek, which really took me back to my childhood. Our friends watched Carter for us and we were so grateful for a night out. The top picture is of Ella sporting her new "do", I had to take a picture! When we went to pick Carter up he was out cold. For some reason, I love waking Carter up like that, he's such a good cuddler when he's super tired.

Day 2- "Sore"
Today, I'm sore! A little too much sun yesterday, but my house was in desperate need of a cleaning, the laundry has been piling up, and its Friday, a great day to be lazy :-)
I decided during Carter's nap to make Cake Batter Cookies. A friend of mine, Hannah, gave me this "formula" for making cookies out of any cake box mixes. Here's what I did.
1 box butter recipe chocolate cake
2 eggs
1/2 cup oil
6 oz Peanut butter chips

Day 1
Today we had a pool day, yeaaahh! Some classmates of my husband (pilot training, I'm not robbing the cradle :-) ) just bought a house off base with a pool and so a friend and myself got to spend the day at their pool waiting on the cable guy. It seemed like a great arrangement to me!
This is Ella, I'm already jealous of her, she's gorgeous!! Her expression is hilarious!
And Carter, I think he's pretty cute too!
